About the Program

In recognition of the Maryland small business community’s contributions to the American economy and society, the President of the United States designates one week each year as National Small Business Week. This year, National Small Business Week is April 28 – May 4, 2024.

There are a lot of things that make Maryland a special place to live, work, and shop, but small businesses are definitely one of the biggest factors. And the Maryland Small Business Week Awards have been recognizing and rewarding those amazing businesses since 1984!

On behalf of the volunteer non-profit committee, I want to welcome you to the premiere small business awards event. It is the vision of our committee to raise awareness, provide a networking forum, recognize and celebrate Maryland’s brightest businesses. Our committee strives to provide to our winners and attendees a unique awards presentation that includes the professional and leaders within the financial resource community.

The event is part of the national declaration made every year by the President of the United States for National Small Business Week. Our national competition winners will be sent to DC along with the rest of the country during this week. This year we will have up to 15 award categories for the US Small Business Adminstration [SBA] award nominations. Nominations for each award category must meet certain qualifying criteria set forth by the U.S. Small Business Administration in order to be considered. Nomination packages must be prepared and submitted by December with the category criteria.

We look forward to seeing you at the event and honoring our winners.

We are a 501(C)(6) Nonprofit organization.
