Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year 2016

Alexander Fakeri

The Veteran Small Business Champion of 2016 is Alexander Fakeri, President of Mojo Web Solutions in Curtis Bay, nominated by the Greater Severna Park Chamber.

Mojo Web Solutions is a service-disabled, veteran-owned creative digital agency, producing measurable and innovative campaigns, both printed and electronic, for a variety of local businesses and industries. Alex has worked diligently to grow his marketing firm to now employ 10.

Alex’s personal success has allowed him the opportunity to support and share his knowledge with fellow disabled vets. He has developed a mentoring program to assist veterans as they start or grow their business, giving them a real-life example of success after military service and hope for a prosperous future after a disabling incident. The program offers best practices, guidance on how to avoid common pitfalls when starting a business and if appropriate, matches veterans with mentors or job training to assist in their new endeavors. He also hosts an Annual Mixer to raise funds for the local chapter of Disabled American Veterans to assist area veterans and their families in many capacities, including transportation to doctor appointments.

Alex is an active member of the BWI Business Partnership, the Severna Park Chamber and is the Chairman of the Chesapeake Art Center, encouraging youth participation in the arts.
