2016’s Insurance Advocate of the year is Jerrie Taylor, Owner of Lion Heart Public Adjustment, in Cambridge, nominated by the Maryland Capital Enterprises’ Women’s Business Center.
A self-proclaimed “helper” since childhood, Jerrie was always helping her mom care for her brothers or in the kitchen and she relished the chance to assist her teachers. Most of her adulthood has been spent in leadership roles, encouraging co-workers and mentoring employees. Currently, she helps her clients recover from the most dire situations: busted pipes, fire, leaking roofs and more. She is a “ray of sunshine” after the storm. Her calm and supportive nature radiates; putting clients at ease and offering hope that things will get better. She goes out of her way to make sure that her customers have someone to stand up for them and protect their interests.
Relatively new to public adjusting, Jerrie has immersed herself in the laws and regulations surrounding insurance policies and procedures. She is quick to share her knowledge, focusing much of her time on educating the public on how to avoid common insurance mistakes. She offers free home inspections and policy reviews to make sure customers have adequate coverage.
Jerrie is a frequent guest speaker for the Women’s Business Center and works with a local women’s shelter, Habitat for Humanity and Beaut’e Within, a group assisting young ladies with self-esteem issues.
