Attorney Advocate of the Year

Daniel Downer, Jr.

The Attorney Advocate Award goes to Daniel Downer, Jr., Attorney at Law, in Annapolis, nominated by the Greater Severna Park Chamber of Commerce.

Dan’s first job out of law school focused his attention on bringing the corporate books to date for a small business facing a tax audit. He quickly became familiar with the many ins and outs of entrepreneurship and never looked back, representing small businesses throughout his career. He counsels his clients on a variety of topics, including choice of entity, formation of the business entity, contract negotiations, lease agreements and employment law.

Understanding the unique challenges that entrepreneurs face, Dan charges his clients based on the complexity of their case and not a standard hourly fee. His customers appreciate his personal service and reduced fees not typically found in the legal arena.

Dan is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Annapolis, mentors youth in the Key Club at Broadneck High School and regularly helps prepare and serve meals at a local homeless shelter.
